Lightning network

Watch a stablecoin cross the network

Lightning moves Bitcoin through a web of payment channels in about a second. PhotonBolt's hub carries RGB stablecoins inside those channels. Pick a sender, a receiver and an amount below, and follow the payment hop by hop.

Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, click a node for its channels. Click the sky up here to strike lightning.

How Lightning works

🔗

Channels

Two people lock funds in one Bitcoin transaction. After that they can pay each other back and forth as often as they like, just by updating who owns how much.

🔒

HTLCs

Each hop locks the payment with a hash. It can only be claimed with the secret (preimage) that the receiver holds, so nobody in the middle can steal it.

🧭

Routing

You don't need a channel with everyone. The payment hops through connected channels, and each router earns a tiny fee. If one hop lacks liquidity, the whole payment unlocks safely.

₿

Settlement

Balances change instantly off-chain. When a channel closes, the final split is written to Bitcoin. That's why Lightning is fast and still backed by Bitcoin's security.

🪙

How RGB rides on Lightning

An RGB channel holds two things: some bitcoin, and an RGB asset amount such as USDT. Every channel update moves the USDT split along with the sats, and the RGB state is committed to the same Bitcoin outputs. The dollars travel inside the channel. There is no bridge and no other blockchain; the token history is checked privately by the receiver (client-side validation).

🏰

Why the hub is the moat

On Lightning, a payment can only go where liquidity already sits. The best-funded, best-connected hub becomes the route everyone uses, and every payment through it makes it more useful. PhotonBolt's hub already links wallets, merchants and public nodes, and funding it with stablecoin liquidity is the core of the plan.
